An 80-year-old Blairgowrie pensioner who was missing for two weeks has been found ”safe and well,” police have confirmed.
Irene Lawrie has been positively identified by officers and is now no longer being treated as a missing person. It is understood she may have boarded a plane at Glasgow Airport bound for Holland.
Ms Lawrie had been reported missing from her B&B accommodation in Perth Road, Blairgowrie, at 9.30am on March 28.
A person fitting her description was recorded on CCTV cameras at Perth bus station just hours later and she was then seen getting on a bus bound for Glasgow.
Another sighting was made at Glasgow’s Buchanan bus station at around 12.50pm the same day.
Superintendent Jim Leslie of western division said: ”Irene Lawrie has been identified, including being seen at Glasgow Airport, and is now no longer being treated as a missing person. She is safe and well.”
Officers from Tayside Police liaised with colleagues from other forces in their efforts to trace Ms Lawrie.
