Daredevils have a chance to take on Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland’s ultimate abseil at the Forth Bridge this May.

This will be the 15th such event Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland organised its first abseil from the bridge in 2003 and since then the popular event has raised well over £500,000 for the charity.

The Forth Bridge Abseil will happen on Sunday, May 8, and promises to be an unforgettable adventure for participants.

The charity’s head of supporter fund-raising, Chris Marks, said, “The views from 165 feet up on the bridge are stunning and it takes real nerve to climb over the edge, but the rewards are worth it.

“As well as giving yourself some unforgettable memories, you’ll be helping thousands around our country who suffer from chest, heart and stroke illnesses. We’re proud to be a Scottish charity and we promise that every penny raised will stay in Scotland.”

Heart disease is Scotland’s biggest killer, stroke is the biggest cause of disability and chest illnesses are the biggest use of the health service.

The charity helps those in Scotland suffering from these illnesses by providing care, information and support, helping people to regain their independence.

People don’t have to face the drop alone they can rope in friends, family or colleagues and take on the challenge as a team.

Minimum sponsorship applies and all participants must be aged 16 or over.

Fully qualified instructors will be on hand to ensure the experience is safe and enjoyable.
