Police pursuing a stolen car in Dundee startled motorists and pedestrians on Saturday night.
The pursuit began in Broughty Ferry Road, from where the Citroen was reported to have been stolen.
The police followed the speeding car north to Whitfield, where the driver tried to escape by heading along Lothian Crescent shortly after 8pm.
The pursuit continued along Berwick Drive, with residents posting updates on the Tayside Police Facebook page, one claiming that his girlfriend was almost struck by the stolen vehicle.
On some of the routes the Citroen was seen careering along the wrong side of the road. It was eventually brought to a halt in Longhaugh Road.
One unconfirmed report said the man behind the wheel had abandoned the vehicle in Longhaugh Road and tried to escape on foot but was chased and captured by police.
