A man who poured hot water over his victim in a workplace attack has been ordered to pay £2,000 compensation.
Deryk Reddington, 32, of Victoria Court, High Street, Cowdenbeath, was sentenced in April for an assault on Steven Lennon.
On July 23, last year, at First Dairy, Perth Road, Cowdenbeath, Reddington poured hot water over Mr Lennon.
He then repeatedly hit him on the head with a kettle, struggled with him and attempted to hit him with the kettle, all to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
A two-year community payback order was imposed with a £2,000 compensation order, a review at Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard.
Defence solicitor Ian Beatson said his client believed he had paid £200-£300, but no payments had been made recently because he was unemployed.
Sheriff Ian Abercrombie said: “I remember this was a ghastly case, a workplace incident.
“The sentence is a package. He can’t pick and choose which parts he does.”
He told Reddington: “This compensation has to be paid.”
A further review of the order will be carried out in January.
