East Fife v Queen’s Park: Fifers looking for third win

East Fife boss Gary Naysmith has a fully fit and suspension free squad to choose from as the Bayview men look to further boost their climb up the League Two table by securing win number three in a row.

Naysmith has been pleased to see his men win their last two games when different types of pressure have been on them, and now he wants them to adapt again.

“Against East Stirling there was a lot of pressure on us as we had lost our opening three games in a row,” said Naysmith.

“And then last week at Arbroath there was pressure on us as we were going to the home of the league leaders who had not dropped a point. On both occasions we did well and came up with wins. We want to build on that.

“This game will be different to those two as we are probably expected to attack Queen’s Park and be the team that will come out on top. The pressure of not winning has gone but it has been replaced by the pressure of being expected to win.

“We have to show that we can handle that.”

The Glasgow visitors are hoping that Ross McPherson will return after an ankle injury however, David McWilliams remains out with a knee injury and Kevin Fotheringham is absent with a calf problem.

Hampden head coach Gus McPherson said: “Both sides will be going into this game boosted by wins last weekend.

“For our new look squad our win will give them more belief that they can compete at this level whereas for East Fife they will be delighted to have Gary Naysmith playing his part.

“Any team in this league would be delighted to call on a player with 46 international caps to his name.”
