Angus Council asks residents to take part in housing survey
ByThe Courier Reporter
Owner-occupiers and private renters in Angus are being invited to take part in a survey to determine the condition of private housing in the county.
The survey is to help the council make decisions about future housing policy and investment.
“The information gathered will help improve energy efficiency and tackle fuel poverty, and advise homeowners on how to keep their homes in good repair,” said a Council spokesperson.
“As a thank you to those taking part, the council will use some of the data it collects to present the householder with a free Energy Performance Certificate, valued in the region of £50.
“This will show how energy efficient your home is and recommend measures to help improve the rating.”
Everyone who takes part will also be entered into a prize draw to win a 40in television or one of six eco kettles.
The survey will involve a pre-arranged visit by a qualified surveyor, will take about one hour and involve a visual inspection of the house and a few questions about those who live in it.
Anyone interested in participating should send their name, address, council tax band and a contact phone number to housingstrategy@angus.gov.uk
