Danny Stewart admitted that Fife Flyers did not produce their best hockey but found a way to beat arch rivals Edinburgh Capitals back-to-back last weekend.
The four points put Fife at the top of the Challenge Cup, Group A, table with 11 points from six outings.
Stewart admitted that there is still more work to be done and said: “Two big wins in the Challenge Cup now puts us at top of the group but we didn’t play our best.
“The key thing is that we found a way both nights. Winning in Murrayfield is never easy and that Edinburgh team will take points off a lot of teams, especially at home.”
Flyers face three games in three nights with a visit to Scottish rivals Braehead Clan on Friday (7.30pm) followed by a trip to Nottingham Panthers on Saturday (7pm) and then returning to Rosslyn Street to play Nottingham on Sunday (6.30pm).
Stewart added: “We have put ourselves in a great position in the Challenge Cup and now we need to focus on picking up some league points and start climbing the table.”
