Dick Campbell isn’t getting carried away with his team’s impressive start to the season.
You certainly won’t hear any talk of titles or promotion for Forfar at this stage of the campaign but the veteran Station Park boss knows there’s no hiding from the fact that the Loons are playing football that is definitely worth getting excited about.
“We’re playing extremely well,” admitted Campbell.
“Some of the football is great to watch but we’re keeping a lid on things.
“Nobody’s looking too far ahead because I’ve been in the game long enough to know there is a big custard pie waiting for you if you do.
“It’s a football cliche but we’re taking it one game at a time.”
Campbell’s confidence in his players will be reflected in his team selection for the visit of Stenhousemuir.
“I’ve not got any reason to change,” he pointed out.
“Derek Young still hasn’t changed so it will be the same squad as last week.”
Campbell’s pre-match message doesn’t change much throughout aseason.
He said: “Every game in this league is a tough one and tomorrow will be exactly the same.
“It’s my own team, rather than the opposition, I focus on.”
Forfar chairman Alastair Donald has appealed for more supporters to back his in-form team but that’s not territory Campbell wants to stray into.
He said: “The chairman’s got his job to do, and I’ve got mine.”
