An Arbroath woman who walked in front of a moving car before grabbing the car keys and throwing them away appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court.
Samantha Ross, 42, of Largo Street, previously admitted that on August 20 at Largo Street, Arbroath, she behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by walking in front of a moving car, throwing a stone at the vehicle, opening the driver’s side door and taking the ignition keys then throwing them into the street.
Depute fiscal Hannah Kennedy said Ross and the complainer had previously been in a relationship.
She said an argument between the pair had ensued at Ross’s home at around 3pm.
“The complainer walked away, had got into his vehicle and had started to drive off when he saw the accused run out of her house towards the car,” she said.
“She walked into the road and picked up a stone which she used to strike the car bonnet.
“She then grabbed the keys from the ignition and threw them away.”
Defence agent Robin Beattie claimed the complainer had been goading Ross in an attempt to “encourage a reaction”.
“With regret and with apologies to the court, she took the opportunity and reacted badly,” he said.
Sheriff Pino Di Emidio deferred sentence for six months for Ross to be of good behaviour.
