The Gytes is never an easy place to go as Dundee found out to their cost on Saturday in their BT National League Division 1 clash with Peebles.

They were not too far off the pace at half-time at 11-3 adrift.

However, Dundee could only add another couple of penalties from the boot of Harry Miller as Peebles ran in a further three tries to clinch the bonus point.

Dundee now find themselves on the same points, 21, as Peebles but below them in sixth.

Howe made amends for last week’s disaster at Cartha by taking it out on another team from the west when Ardrossan Accies came to Duffus Park and were put to the sword by 62-0.

Scott Busby and Alisdair Wilson had two tries each, Fraser Clark, Callum Willison, Chris Mason, Rob Douglas, Cameron Fenton and Ben Mitchell ran in one each and Angus Guthrie slotted six out of 10 conversions.

With Falkirk failing to pick up a bonus at Kirkcaldy, Howe now move one point clear at the top of BT National 2.

Kirkcaldy were 7-0 up against second-in-the-table Falkirk at half-time thanks to a Steve Mitchell try converted by Finlay Smith.

However, they lost momentum and could only add a second-half Smith penalty as Falkirk upped a gear, with Gary Dempsey crossing for two tries and Benji Cottle one.

Outside the top two, it is pretty tight in BT National 3 with West of Scotland in third and Perthshire only five points behind in seventh thanks to a 25-11 win at Hawick YM.

Shire ran out comfortable winners thanks to tries from Mark Ward with a double and Keir Doe with one, added to two conversions and two penalties from Duncan Clow.

Although they were not exactly dancing in the streets of Dunfermline, the McKane Park men finally got points on the league board against Murrayfield Wanderers with a 23-23 draw.

Graham Hall and Alex Conyers had the tries for Dunfermline with Leon Zropf converting both and slotting three penalties.
