A record 35,000 revellers descended on Balado as the gates opened on the first day of T in the Park on July 11. An estimated 85,000 people will watch a host of bands each day over the weekend, including headliners Mumford and Sons, Rihanna and the Killers. Festival director Geoff Ellis said: Welcoming the first campers through the gates is my favourite moment of the festival every year. There was a phenomenal atmosphere today, and a great sense of excitement amongst the campers.
