Dundee defender urges fans to help push for league title

Lifelong Liverpool fan Adam Cummins has urged Dundee supporters to create their own Anfield effect when the Dark Blues’ Championship promotion campaign returns to Dens Park on Saturday.
The on-loan centre-back has seen how his fellow Scousers helped inspire the Reds to their last home win against Tottenham a week ago as they push for a league title.
And he has called on Dundee supporters to make their presence count in the crucial clash with Cowdenbeath at the weekend, one of only two home games they have remaining.
Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Hamilton means the two teams are still only separated by goals scored at the top of the league, with Falkirk now just four points back. With four games remaining, any slip-up could now be fatal.
Cummins said: “The away fans were brilliant today, turning out in big numbers. All the players would urge the fans to keep going and give us that backing in every game left, even when times are tough.
“It always makes a difference. It’s a famous saying, but it’s true the supporters can be a 12th man at times.”
