St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright has assured fans that a new deal for Stevie May “will be sorted.” A report yesterday claimed that the star striker had turned down the club’s offer but Courier Sport understands that was well wide of the mark. Instead, Wright is relaxed about how the negotiations with May are progressing. A confident Saints boss declared last night: “I have spoken to Stevie today and he has reiterated he wants to stay at St Johnstone. “He wants to extend his deal here and it will be sorted. We have no idea where this story has come from. “Negotiations with Stevie and his agent are ongoing and we have been going back and forward. “That’s the way it works and it’s exactly what happened before he signed his last contract. “Stevie is meeting with his agent tomorrow to discuss the latest offer and I don’t think we’re too far away.”
