It is the sort of daunting schedule that would faze most managers but Forfar boss Dick Campbell has looked at his side’s next four fixtures and defiantly stated: “Bring it on!”.
The Angus outfit travel to the home of new League One leaders Morton today, then face a tricky trip up to Peterhead on Tuesday night followed by Saturday games against fellow promotion contenders Stranraer and Brechin.
However, Campbell insists that is a challenge to be embraced, not feared as he looks for his side to bounce back after last weekend’s disappointing defeat at Ayr.
The veteran manager said: “This is the sort of game that I relish, away to the league leaders Morton.
“There is no hiding place in matches like this but as ever I am only focused on my own team not the opposition.
“I honestly believe we have had a fabulous season.
“If you had said to me at the start of the campaign that we would still be in with a shout of winning promotion going into the last quarter, I would have bitten your hand off.
“The boys have been up at the top of the league all season and deserve great credit.
“However, I am determined we will not simply fade away and I will be demanding that the players focus fully on what’s in front of us.
“After Morton, we have Peterhead away on Tuesday night followed by Stranraer and then Brechin away. I love that sort of challenge so bring it on!”
Campbell has several injury worries following last week’s game, with Gavin Swankie, Dale Hilson and James Dale all doubtful.
Meanwhile, Forfar defender Andrew Steeves has gone out on loan to Montrose.
