Fife Flyers bosses admit there are still things to work on ahead of Saturday’s return Challenge Cup Group A clash with Edinburgh Capitals.
Fife are eyeing a double after their 3-2 overtime win at Edinburgh last Sunday.
Danny Stewart, Fife’s associate coach, said: “Last weekend was a big response.
“We improved in certain areas and limited our mistakes.
“We can still clean some areas up and get better but, so far, the progress has been there.”
Meanwhile, Brett Switzer was yesterday singled out by coach Marc Lefebvre as Dundee Stars’ most consistent player this season.
Lefebvre said: “Brett has been playing in the third line but he has made a big impact for us.
“He has been, I believe, our most consistent player so far this season and his assist on Mikael Lidhammar’s goal was pivotal for us in a tight game.”
Stars got back to work yesterday for Saturday’s home clash with Sheffield Steelers. Dundee Tigers welcome back three key players on Sunday when they face Paisley Pirates.
Eck Purves, Ewan Heeles and Daniel Topping all return but it looks likely that Graeme Carstairs will be sidelined with an injury suffered at Dumfries against Solway Sharks last Sunday.
