Cowdenbeath search for first away win

Cowdenbeath search for first away win

Cowdenbeath manager Colin Nish is looking for his men to recover from a home heartache by picking up points for the first time this season on the road at Stranraer.

The Blue Brazil let a two goal lead go in the last three minutes of last Saturday’s game with Stenhousemuir to draw 2-2, and Nish wants the perfect response at Stair Park.

He said: “We are all still a bit sore from last weekend as we know that it is a game we should have won. Our previous two games were away defeats and our poor run away from home overall has taken some confidence from us.

“Last weekend it felt that we had forgotten how to see a game out from a winning position. Anxiety crept in after they scored their first goal and that led to the second. We need to shake that out of our game and winning at Stranraer would be a great way to do that.

“Our away form has been poor all season and we need the players to go out and be brave to try and change that. Stranraer do not have the best of home records so they will be looking to change that at our expense.”

“Stranraer will also want to get over losing 3-0 to Dunfermline last weekend live on television. It was not a shock result by any means but it will still have been a disappointment for them.”

John Armstrong, Lewis Milne and Jack Beaumont are all still sidelined.
