Forfar boss Gary Bollan doing all he can in order to get Loons through

Forfar manager Gary Bollan is determined to leave no stone unturned in order to get the Loons through to face Ross County.

A trip to Dingwall to meet the Premiership club is the prize on offer at Station Park tonight when junior club Linlithgow Rose visit for a William Hill Scottish Cup fourth round replay.

The first fixture finished 3-3 at Prestonfield 10 days ago, with the Angus men letting a 3-1 lead slip against Rose’s 10 men.

This match will be played to a finish, with extra-time or spotkicks deciding the outcome if necessary, and Bollan is doing all that he can to make sure his men are victorious.

He explained: “Our league game at Airdrie on Saturday was called off at half past one and there was so much snow on the pitch that we could not even have a training session.

“As a result, we told the boys to come in on Monday night.

“We would not normally do that the day before a game but there are a few things that I want us to go over and it will be good for the boys to loosen up.”

Bollan is determined that his team holds on to a lead when, or if, they get one tonight.

He added: “All the credit from the first game should go to Linlithgow as they battled back really well.

“However, it is now all about getting through on the night and we have to do enough to do that.”

New signing Andy Ryan, who has joined from Hamilton, is not eligible as he was not recruited in time for the first meeting.

Veteran striker Chris Templeman left the club by mutual consent on Friday.

Bryan Hodge is a doubt with a hamstring injury and a fit-again Michael Dunlop is unlikely to feature due to a lack of recent game time.

Meanwhile, Linlithgow boss Dave McGlynn is hoping that his juniors are over the nerves that affected them in the first meeting with the Loons.

McGlynn said: “We had a lot of nerves at the start of the first game.

“Hopefully, they will not be there this time even though we know we could be travelling to a Premiership side in the next round.

“We grew into the game and ended up playing well but we cannot afford to start slowly at Forfar’s own ground.

“We are still very much in the tie and if we show the battling spirit that we did at two goals down in the first game as well as the same work rate then we have a chance.

“There was little pressure on us to win at home and there is even less pressure now so we can go and enjoy it.”

Linlithgow, like Forfar, did not have a game at the weekend and they go into this one with Gary Thom, Ruari MacLennan and Chris Gray all suspended, while Roddy MacLennan is out injured.

Fans are reminded that the game kicks off at 7.30 pm, with admission set at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
