Motorists warned of overnight A9 works to fix potholes

A stretch of the A9 between Perth and Stirling will be the subject of overnight restrictions throughout most of this week.

The £100,000 project by Transport Scotland will see improvements made to a 1.2km stretch of the A9 north of Greenloaning.

Beginning tonight, the work will take place between Williamfield and Netherton farms and affect traffic travelling in both directions.

It will involve the resurfacing of both northbound lanes and is designed to improve the overall condition of the carriageway.

The programme of work is expected to last for four nights and will be undertaken between 7.30pm and 6.30am.

Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north east unit representative, said: “These overnight works will repair a number of potholes and surface defects on the A9 carriageway between Williamfield and Netherton farms.

“Works are being carried out overnight to minimise delays but we would encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time for travel.”
