Dundee United frontman Mario Bilate believes he has been fixed and is ready for the new season.

The Russian-born Dutchman missed the majority of last season due to recurring hamstring injuries, starting just seven games for the Tannadice club.

However, he now feels “100%” after receiving extensive therapy in his native Holland.

“I’m excited to be back because I’ve been away for a while,” said Bilate.

“I’ve been able to get some proper rehab.

“I got the time that I needed to get myself sorted and hopefully I can push on now and get pre-season going.

“Now I feel 100% fit.

“I went back home to Holland to Fysiomed, which is one of the biggest physio therapeutic facilities there.

“I was working five days a week, one on one with the physio.

“I got an hour of treatment and two hours of training every day.

“Basically I got things sorted out, from my ankle to my neck.

“As regards to the problem with my hamstring, the diagnosis was that it was coming from my back.

“My pelvis and my hip were a bit crooked which made my spine crooked as well.

“That made me lack mobility in my lower back, so it put pressure on my hamstring as well as I was probably over-working them and if the pelvis is crooked that means there is more tension on one hamstring than the other.

“I got insoles and ankle supports on a daily basis and everything went well.

“Hopefully, I can maintain this physical health.

”With the probability of Nadir Ciftci departing this summer, Bilate sees an opportunity to show United fans his true colours.

“I don’t think the fans got to see the real me,” he added.

“I’m just trying to get fit and get games under my belt and push on for the team and make a good season out of this one.

“Last season made you realise what you’re really missing when you’re injured.

“I think that’s the worst thing for a player.

“I’ve never had a season like last season, but I hope that I can take this on as a learning process and that will only make me a better player.

“Hopefully being here from day one of pre-season can help me to get my fitness back up so that I can do a lot of great things for the team.”
