Police hunting armed bank robbers who made their getaway on bicycles have released a new image.

In a bid to track down the pair who stole cash from the TSB in Kirkcaldy a picture has been published of distinctive jogging bottoms worn by one of them.

It is hoped that someone will recognise the dark blue trousers with white motif down one leg, which are made by Polish manufacturer Mordex, a branch associated with bodybuilding.

Wielding a handgun and crowbar, the robbers threatened staff in the Dunearn Drive branch on the morning of Friday January 29 before escaping with cash on mountain bikes.

Police have already released CCTV images of the men and again appealed for help from the public to trace them, with the hope that the Mordex trousers will be familiar to someone.

Detective Sergeant Samantha Davidson said: “If members of the public know anyone who wears this brand of clothing then please get in touch to assist with our inquiries.

“In addition, anyone with any further information relating to this robbery should also contact police immediately.”

The man wearing the jogging bottoms pictured is described as white, of medium build, 5ft 9in tall, around 30 and with stubble. He was also wearing a dark baseball cap, dark blue and grey hooded top and dark trainers.

The other was also white, in his late 20s or early 30s and had dark stubble. He was wearing a dark baseball cap and dark clothing.

At least one of the suspects, who were seen riding bikes on Alford Avenue around the time of the incident, is believed to be from Eastern Europe.
