Missing Perthshire Girl Guide leader Ann Taylor had been accused of embezzlement

Concern is growing for a missing Perthshire woman who was last spotted on the Tay Bridge.

One of the country’s most senior Girl Guiding figures has gone missing after being accused of embezzling money from the organisation.Central Division Commissioner Ann Taylor is the subject of a major missing person inquiry just days after appearing in court accused of taking Guides money.Ms Taylor appeared at Perth Sheriff Court on Tuesday in connection with an allegation that she spent months ripping off The Girl Guide Association for a total of £1337.Taylor, Lintibert Terrace, Muthill, by Crieff, was alleged to have embezzled the money from the Perth and Kinross section of the Guides between February 4 and May 25, 2013.The 52-year-old denied the charge against her during a brief appearance on Tuesday and her trial was scheduled for early next year.A Police Scotland spokesman has urged the public to help find Ms Taylor after she was reported to have gone missing early on Friday morning.A force spokesman said: “Police Scotland is growing increasingly concerned for 52 year old missing person Ann Nicoll Taylor. Ann was reported missing on Friday 13 November from Muthill area of Perthshire.“Ann was seen on the Tay Bridge at 9.20pm on Friday November 13 walking towards Fife. Ann is described as five foot three inches tall, of heavy build with brown hair and brown eyes.“When last seen she was wearing a blue jacket which has a pink hood, a pink jumper, blue shirt and dark coloured trousers. Her disappearance is out of character and there is concern for Ann’s welfare.”Anyone with information that could help officers trace Ann is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
