Tayside producers were among the winners in the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards.
Charlotte Flower Chocolates of Acharn near Aberfeldy won product of the year and confectionary and snacking awards for versions of its chocolate thins.
Dundee company Highland Game, the UK’s biggest supplier of venison products, won the success through partnership award for supply chain partners who demonstrate sustainable commercial benefit from joint market-focused practices.
Ian R Spink was crowned food hero for Original Smokies from Arbroath Ltd.
A record-breaking 239 entries competed for the titles at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards 2015.
The winners were announced at a gathering of more than 800 guests by broadcaster Kaye Adams in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.
The Scottish food and drink “Oscars” are organised by Scotland Food & Drink in partnership with the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland, and supported by a range of sponsors.
The chief executive of Scotland Food & Drink, James Withers, said: “Food and drink is a national success story for Scotland. The awards let us shine a light on some of the people and world-class products in that success.”
They also provide confidence for the future of the industry which aims to grow to a value of £16.5 billion by 2017 and build Scotland’s reputation as a Land of Food and Drink.
