West Fife man facing prison for vicious knife attack

A Fife man is facing jail for a knife attack which left his victim scarred for life.

Dell McBennett, 47, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court where he admitted assaulting John Kenny on March 19.

The charge stated that at the accused’s home in Leighton Street, High Valleyfield, McBennett struggled with Mr Kenny and struck him on the head with a knife to his injury and permanent disfigurement.

Sheriff Craig McSherry told McBennett is was highly likely that given the nature of the offence and his record that a custodial sentence would be imposed.

He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on June 8.
