Marathon mum Andrea back in training for Edinburgh

Inverbervie’s Andrea Watt is returning to the challenge of the marathon on a very personal fundraising mission.
Andrea, 44, is in training for the 26.2 miles of the Edinburgh Marathon on May 29 to support Alzheimer Scotland.
A community fundraiser for Alzheimer Scotland, Aberdeen and Tayside and development manager for Lathallan School at Johnshaven, mum-of-two Andrea’s preparations began in earnest in November.
“I’ve enjoyed the training and running from Stonehaven to Inverbervie a few times,” said Andrea.
“I ran the London Marathon back in 1997 but I was 25 then so this has been a bigger challenge.
“Raising funds for Alzheimer Scotland is very important to me as I’ve seen at first hand the difference this charity makes to people living with dementia and helping them enjoy their lives. My mum died in 2012 so I’m challenging myself in her memory.”
