A Dundee family have been terrorised by racist abuse and bricks being thrown at cars and windows in a series of late-night attacks.
Margaret Gray and other families on Law Crescent have been living in fear of hooligans who have been shouting racist abuse, throwing missiles through windows and damaging their cars.
Her husband has had to stay up at night to protect his home, and the couple have taken video footage of the attackers.
Mrs Gray said: “When they turned up, the police admitted this would be a very difficult crime to make arrests for.
“Unless they catch someone doing it, they can’t do much.”
She continued: “My little boy is only eight and he asks now ‘are the bad boys going to come?’ And we have to say ‘yes’.
“It isn’t something you expect during the night and we shouldn’t have to put up with it.Roof damage
“We don’t know what started it but for a few weeks now the whole street has been terrorised. They’ll come into the garden and shout and throw things and play on the kids’ swings.”
Mrs Gray said the youths have damaged cars at several houses.
“They kicked the wing mirrors off my car a few weeks ago, which cost quite a lot of money to fix,” she said.
“They damaged the BMW which often sits at the top of the drive that could top £1,000.
“It’s not fair. We keep to ourselves and work for what we have and these kids think they can get away with it.”
A police spokesman confirmed they had received a call on Wednesday morning and another at the same address on May 7 at 10.30pm.
Both incidents are still under investigation and the police are looking to trace the same youth in connection with both.Car damage
A spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm we are investigating an instance of vandalism of a blue BMW Z4 at an address in Law Crescent at about 1am Wednesday morning.
“We are looking to trace three males in connection with the incident, who were seen fleeing in the direction of Hill Street.
“One is described as around 15 years old, 5ft 7in, with brown-blonde hair and was wearing a tracksuit and hooded top.
“We would encourage anyone with any information to contact 101.”
