Organisers hope to attract top DJs to two-day dance music festival in Angus

Plans are under way to bring a two-day dance music festival to Angus next summer.

A consortium of local companies have submitted initial plans to Angus Council for Festival of House which they hope will feature some of the best DJs in the music industry, live music and local talent.

It is being organised by Jigsaw Events and Management Limited, Red Pepper Events and The Rhumba Club, with investment being provided by a local businessman.

The event is expected to have a capacity of 15,000 dance music fans, with 5,000 campers.

A spokesman for the organisers claimed the event would provide a considerable boost to the local economy, with local suppliers and businesses being used where possible.

He said the festival would be a valuable addition to Scotland’s vibrant dance music scene.

“House music has a massive following in Scotland and we plan to deliver something really special with this two-day music festival,” he said.

“With its location in the heart of north east Scotland, Angus is an ideal area for a festival.”

Three sites in Angus are under consideration.

“We’ve been working closely with Angus Council, partners and agencies on the initial plans for the festival for some time now, which has led us to identify three sites, where the screening will now begin,” the spokesman added.

“As we are at the early stages of the site discussions with the relevant agencies, and with site approval yet to be granted, we are unable to provide more in the way of information at this stage.

“We will share more information once the final site has been selected and approved.”
