Courier Country participants saddled up for a variety of different weekend challenges.
In Forfar, fans of all things stateside were treated to an array of attractions in a successful second attempt to stage the inaugural Scotland’s Americana event.
The packed programme went ahead at Forfar Mart’s Strathmore Hall, just weeks after Scotland’s miserable summer washed out a July 4 plan to put the event on in a field near the town.
Organisers had feared the forecast was also looking grim for their second date, but the mart stepped in to offer the venue and in the end things stayed fair for visitors.
They were able to enjoy displays ranging from American motors to line dancing, burlesque and ranch riding at the event alongside a number of live music performances.
At the other end of Courier Country, the rolling and picturesque countryside around Doune in Perthshire took on a more demanding demeanour for participants in the Lanrick Challenge.
Teams from across Scotland tackled 6km and 12km Royal Marines-designed obstacle courses designed to test stamina and teamwork to the limit.
Participants included wives and girlfriends of Royal Marines from RM Condor, on the outskirts of Arbroath, who undertook training sessions at the Angus base to prepare for the challenge.
The event raises money for the Sandpiper Trust and Help Our Wounded Royal Marines and Supporting Arms charities.
