Three fire appliances attended Strang Street when the alarm was raised shortly after 3pm. The blaze was extinguished using a hosereel and breathing apparatus. Also in use were a thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan to help draw out smoke from the house. After the fire was put out firefighters damped down and cut away damaged timbers. There were two appliances from the Kingsway East Fire Station in Dundee as well as one from Forfar Fire Station. The bungalow’s occupants were checked out by paramedics at the scene.
