Charlie Waugh-Rumbellow meets Bert the dinosaur.
A giant dinosaur has made a new home at Dundee Science Centre.
Bert, an 11ft triceratops, was moved into the museum after appearing on the set of the Dundee Rep Ensemble production of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, which ran throughout March 2014.
Created by Fife-based Scott Bisset, Bert’s arrival coincides with Dundee Science Centre’s new Dino Explorers activities.
His adoption comes just days after Dippy the Diplodocus left the Natural History Museum in London after entertaining generations of children for 109 years.
Ian Dow, head of production (stage) at Dundee Rep said: “At the end of his month-long stint on stage, we were keen to find a permanent home for our beloved Bert.
“We received lots of interest even from people who wanted him in their gardens but we were eager to ensure that he would have a productive life and, especially with their forthcoming Dino Explorers activities, Dundee Science Centre seemed the perfect place for him.”
