Broughty barbershop stalwart Malty the dog not forgotten

Customers at a Broughty Ferry barber’s shop will notice the absence one of the area’s most popular canine characters.
Malty the dog has been a fixture at Alex Graham’s in Brook Street for the past six years. Sadly, he was diagnosed with cancer and had to be put down on August 26.
“He was very well known and all the kids used to come just to look in the window to see him,” said shop owner Lee Graham.
“If I went out he used to sit in the barber’s chair and I think he must have had his photograph taken more often than any other dog.
“He was almost 11 and always came in with me over the 11 years first at our previous shop and then when we moved to the Ferry, where he became a real character.”
