Dundonians exploiting free parking at a major supermarket could be captured on camera and fined after store bosses initiated a crackdown.
The easy access offered to the city centre by the new £3.5 million Seabraes Bridge is thought to have been a deciding factor behind Tesco’s decision to take a hard line against the drivers abusing facilities at its Riverside Drive store.
Customers have been unable to find spaces as shoppers and workers heading for the city centre took advantage of the large car park.
Now huge mounted cameras and numerous signs warning of hefty fines have been installed throughout the site.
A spokesman for Tesco said the store took the decision to clamp down on freeloaders after complaints from customers.
