Kinghorn lifeboat launched to rescue dog in Forth

The Kinghorn lifeboat was launched this afternoon to rescue a dog in the water near Cockenzie Power Station, Edinburgh.

The dog could not get out of the Forth despite the efforts of its owner, with the lifeboat launched at around 1.30pm to assist.

However, the local fire service had stepped in to help by the time the boat arrived and the crew were stood down.

The dog is understood to have suffered no ill effects.
