Fire breaks out in Balmullo home

Firefighters battled a fire in a property in Balmullo this morning.

Crews from Cupar and St Andrews were called to the blaze, which started shortly after 8.30am.

There they found the fire was in the attic space of the house, on the village’s Burnside.

The fire was extinguished within an hour, though crews remained on site for a time afterwards to ventilate the house and carry out salvage.
