Dougie MacLean to help kickstart Aberdour Festival
ByThe Courier Reporter
Aberdour’s 32nd village festival gets under way today.
Dougie MacLean and guests will help kickstart the annual event with a concert in the marquee on Friday night, and a number of art exhibitions will be open in various venues.
Saturday will see the traditional crowning ceremony and parade, before a beach day with highlights such as the sandcastle competition and raft race. The finale to the first Saturday will be a family ceilidh. Sunday’s events include the village market and fun day, and Donkey Brae run.
This year’s themes are food and drink, light and soil, with events for all ages from baby sensory to bushcraft and flowers to flamenco.
Full details are available in the programme, which can be found online at www.aberdourfestival.org.
