With the start of the salmon season now under way, Perth and District Anglers’ Association is looking for new members.
President Ted Eadie said: “The association can offer fishing on a wide range of salmon beats at various times throughout the season, the cost of which is included in the annual £180 subscription.
“We own our own beat at Logierait, one of the few clubs on the Tay to do so.
“In addition, we have fishing on Tay beats including Upper and Lower Bolfracks, Findynate, Upper Delvine, Stobhall, Upper Redgorton, Upper Scone, Lower Scone, Rome Croy, Muirtons, Stanners Island and Willowgate.
“We also have fishing at Links Farm on the Isla, Oakbank on the Ericht and two beats on the Almond.”
Association membership is not restricted to the Perth area.
This year new Scottish Parliament legislation requires anglers to release all salmon caught prior to April back into the water.
The move has been widely welcomed as a positive measure to ensure the river’s fish stocks are protected.
