The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a cat was shot in the head twice with an airgun in Blairgowrie.
“This cat was very lucky to have come away relatively unscathed from this attack,” said an undercover Scottish SPCA inspector.
“Not only was this a very serious and cruel act, it was also a criminal offence which can be punished by a prison sentence and a fine.
“Unfortunately our enquiries so far have not resulted in any leads so we are now asking anyone with information about this incident to search their conscience and contact our animal helpline (03000 999 999) or the police.”
The incident is believed to have taken place around April 23 in a wooded area between the Altamount Chalets and the council depot.
