St Johnstone to wear armbands in tribute to Tunisia terror attack victims Billy and Lisa Graham

St Johnstone will wear black armbands during their Europa League qualifier in Armenia in tribute to Tunisian shooting victims Billy Graham and his wife Lisa.

The Saints have arrived in Yerevan for Thursday’s match against Alashkert FC and requested permission to honour Mr Graham, who worked at McDiarmid Park as a turnstile operator.

The Grahams, from Bankfoot, have been confirmed as among the 38 victims of the atrocity in Sousse carried out by student Seifeddine Rezgui.

Around 50 supporters have made the trip to Armenia on Saints’ official charter flight, and chairman Steve Brown’s words about the couple on the flight were welcomed by fans, as was the application to Uefa for the players to wear black armbands tonight.

Perth businessman and Saints fan of several decades, Shug Taylor, is one of those who made the trip and said: “The black armbands and the minute’s silence next week is a great gesture.

“When I saw the boy’s face in the paper and then heard he was a Saints fan it clicked who he was.

“It was bad enough watching it on the television but it’s terrible when you hear that a couple from where you live have been killed.

“He would have been in Tunisia thinking ‘I wonder how the Saintees are getting on?’. He was one of us and it’s a real shame.”

Saints face Alashkert on Thursday evening in the first leg of their qualifier.
