A drug dealer who was caught taking drugs into T in the Park because he was enveloped in a cloud of cannabis smoke has been jailed for a year.
Sheriff William Wood told Adam Gallacher that he had to go to prison to send out a warning to others who planned to bring drugs to sell at the music festival.
Gallacher’s bid to take around £2,000 worth of drugs into T in the Park failed because he arrived in a cloud of cannabis so strong that police sniffer dogs “went crazy”, the court heard.
A jury at Perth Sheriff Court found Gallacher guilty of having £1,500 worth of cannabis and £430 worth of N-Bomb with intent to supply at the festival on July 11 2013.
Police described how they were carrying out random searches, backed by trained dogs, at the entrance to try to stop revellers bringing drugs into the Balado site.
Gallacher, 35, from Highbank, Blackburn, Lancashire, was searched and found to be carrying more than 100 grams of cannabis and 43 tabs of the hallucinogen Nbome, known as N-Bomb or Smiley Paper.
