East Fife manager Gary Naysmith is delighted with the squad that he has assembled for this season however he knows his side face a tough opening afternoon against Falkirk.
Naysmith said: “I am pleased to have put together an 18 man squad over the summer. We have kept hold of a good number of the players that did well in the second half of last season and added a number of new boys who will give us a fresh impetus.
“Falkirk’s last game was the Scottish Cup Final defeat from Inverness. They will not want to be lingering over them and getting this campaign off to a good start by beating us will be seen as a way to do that.
“We are huge underdogs however I am pleased with what the players have given me throughout pre-season and hopefully we can build on that at Falkirk.”
The Fifers have added striker Craig Sutherland who was with Cowdenbeath and Stenhousemuir last season, with Jason Kerr joining on-loan from St Johnstone. Stevie Campbell is the only absentee for the Bayview men due to an ankle injury.
