Brechin manager Darren Dods looks for the first win of his managerial career at the sixth time of asking when his side meet Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill.
Dods has seen improvement in his side’s performance week on week since the season began, and is confident that his first three point haul is not far away.
He explained: “Against Airdrie last Saturday I was disappointed that we were two goals down at half time. The first goal came from a breakaway following a corner that we had and the second was a bit fortunate as it come from a rebound, however there were positive signs as well.
“We created a lot of chances, in fact the most chances we have created in a game. We pulled a goal back and came close to getting an equaliser so that side of our game has certainly improved.”
Dods is looking for further improvement in his defence, and the recruitment of former St Johnstone and Dundee full back Willie Dyer should help.
He said: “Willie had been down in England on trial at Whitehawk who are based in Brighton. He never really settled and thankfully got in touch and he will be included at Albion Rovers.
“We are fortunate that he was still available and he will help the side as he has great experience. “
He added: “Albion Rovers put on a really strong performance in their last home game when they beat Ayr United 3-0. They will have been disappointed at not adding to those points away from home and we will look to add to that disappointment by winning this game.”
Paul McLean and Dene Shields are out injured and Ross Perry is a doubt. Goalkeeper Graeme Smith is suspended for a second game with Partick O’Neill continuing to deputise.
