Son of ‘Jukebox’ gives East Fife fans a pre-season goal treat

East Fife beat East of Scotland League side Selkirk 7-1 in a warm-up match on Saturday.

Bobby Linn netted a hat-trick, scoring twice after the break to add to an initial strike in the first-half.

New signing Scott Durie son of former East Fife and Rangers legend Gordon ‘Jukebox’ gave the visiting fans a treat by scoring his first goal for the club in the first half, with trialist Gary Carroll, formerly of Alloa, making it 3-0 at half-time.

As well as Linn’s brace in the second half, former Raith forward Lee Bryce and Lloyd Young also got on the scoresheet.

Crawford gave starts to new signings Durie, Michael Deland, Robert Sloan and Craig Johnstone, along with trialists Carroll and Bryce, young Sean Murdoch and Michael Dick from Edinburgh University.

New midfielder Paul Tansey, from Musselburgh Athletic, 17-year-old keeper Andy Collier, who has signed from Airdrie United, and trialist Mark Whatley, another ex-Raith player, also featured.

East Fife fans who did not make the trip to the Borders at the weekend will get their chance to see the squad in action at home for the first time tomorrow when Dunfermline visit for a friendly.
