It has been a long, hard season but Dundee boss Paul Hartley admits his players cannot wait to turn out for Julian Speroni’s testimonial tonight.
The Crystal Palace legend was formerly with the Dark Blues for three seasons earlier in his career and was a popular figure at Dens as shown by the fact that 1,700 Dundee fans are making the long trip south for the game.
And Hartley also revealed that another supporter, Stoke and Scotland star Charlie Adam, still intends to play at Selhurst Park despite being called up to the national squad for the games against Qatar and Ireland.
The manager said: “The amount of our fans going is brilliant for Speroni.
“He was a fans’ favourite here and we are taking a tremendous backing down there.
“It is our last game of the season and we are looking forward to it.
“It will be special for Speroni and the players are really looking forward to it.
“I spoke to Charlie Adam and he is still playing. Obviously, he has been included in the Scotland set-up but as far as I am aware, he is desperate to play as he is a big Dundee fan.
“I think we also have a few other former players who are turning up like Fabian Caballero and Juan Sara.
It will be good for them and a great occasion.”
