Dundee United old boy praises transfer target By Eric Nicolson March 16 2016, 10:00am March 16 2016, 10:00am Share Dundee United old boy praises transfer target Share via Facebook Twitter Linkedin Whatsapp Messenger Email Post link https://www.thecourier.co.uk/sport/football/dundee-united/256638/dundee-united-old-boy-praises-transfer-target/ Copy Link Darren Dods believes potential Dundee United transfer target Liam Watt could be another lower league rough diamond for the Tangerines. The Brechin City boss, who currently has the attacking midfielder on-loan from Airdrie, can understand why his old team have been linked with Watt. And he believes the 22-year-old could handle the step up from League One level. “He’s done really well for us,” said the former United defender. “We were happy to get him on loan. “He’s played the last four games for us before the weekend and been excellent. He was certainly always a handful to play against. “Liam carries a goal-scoring threat from midfield. He’s got a great attitude and has been good in training as well as games. “He’s got a big future if he keeps developing. “I could definitely see him playing at a higher level. There’s no reason why he couldn’t make that step up. “United have got a good history of picking up players from the lower leagues and developing them. “They did it with Danny Swanson in my day and there have been plenty of others since.”
