Kelty fighter Connor Law took his professional record to two wins out of two with a convincing display.
The 22-year-old fighter, who turned pro after narrowly missing out on a place at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, was up against the experienced William Warburton on the undercard of the St Andrew’s Boxing Club Burns Night show, but came through unscathed to keep his unblemished pro record intact.
Law looked set for a knockout victory early on, putting Warburton under sustained pressure from the first round before dropping him in the third round with a well-timed right hook.
However, Warburton – who has had around 90 fights in his career – is made of stern stuff and held out until the final bell.
Law was awarded the bout by 40 points to 35 and is expected to fight again in either February or March to continue his progression.
