Glacier Energy Services has appointed senior oil and gas industry executive Jim McAleese as managing director of its newly-formed heat transfer division.

The 51-year-old former Alderley MD will lead the business consisting of its Ross Offshore division and recent acquisition MSL Heat Transfer under the company’s newly established four-division corporate structure.

In addition to heat transfer services, Glacier provides machining services, non-destructive testing and weld overlay for pressure control equipment.

It invested £1 million recently in establishing a new 15,000ft2 workshop and warehousing facility at Dalgety Bay to better integrate its offshore capabilities with its existing asset refurbishment and maintenance businesses in the area.

The firm which has a staff of 225 and also owns Methil-based Professional Testing Services following a £5m takeover earlier this year yesterday said it was on track for group-wide revenues to exceed £30m in the current financial year.

Mr McAleese is a chartered engineer and member of the Institute of Measurement and Control.
