Dundee folk asked to look out for missing epileptic dog

Skye went missing last week.
Skye went missing last week.

A dog owner is increasingly concerned for the welfare of her missing collie cross-breed which suffers from epilepsy.

Skye, 7, scampered through a gap in the fence of Lynne McGrath’s garden on Cambridge Street last Thursday.

There have been several sightings of her since but she remains missing.

Lynne, 27, is growing increasingly concerned as Skye needs two tablets a day to control her epilepsy. Without them Skye is likely to have regular fits.

Lynne has put up posters in the west end appealing for people to contact her if they see Skye and online appeals have also been shared by concerned animal lovers.

The calls have come in but by the time Lynne has reached the places where Skye has been seen she has not been able to find her.

“In one sense it’s reassuring that people have noticed her but it’s frustrating that I still don’t have her home,” the BT customer services adviser said.

“She’s been seen in places like Balgay Cemetery, Perth Road at Fernbrae, Perth Road at Nisa and Stack Leisure Park.

“She’s wandering around probably disorientated and will be getting weaker and more ill with the fits. I’m worried about her.”

Skye is small, with a white body with black speckles. Her face is mainly black with some white.

Lynne has contacted the police, Brown Street kennels and vets across Dundee, but so far to no avail.

Anyone who sees Skye should call Lynne on 07572 427133.
