Police Scotland are hunting Lady Boys’ kilts.

The Thai performing group are in Dundee for a week-long series of shows at the Baxter Park.

However, as The Courier revealed, their opening show on Friday encountered a hitch when kilts and sporrans went missing.

More than 200 costumes were within the tented village, but with most a little too flamboyant for daily use the thieves instead made off with the items of Scottish dress.

Police Scotland said the opportunist thieves struck sometime between 7am and 8.30am on Friday July 3, hours before the first performance.

Thankfully, the cast were able to secure replacements from a city kilt hire firm, before taking to the stage to dazzle a huge crowd at Baxter Park.

Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the theft.

A spokesman said: “Five kilts and sporrans were stolen from a show compound in Baxter Park in Dundee some time between 7am and 8.30am on Friday July 3.

“The kilts and sporrans were stolen from outside a dressing room within the compound.”

Anyone with information is asked to phone police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
