Josh Mair smugly told police “I can’t imagine it (the bird) was enjoying it” as he admitted the sickening offence. The 19-year-old was sentenced to seven months’ detention at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday following the incident in Admiralty Road, Rosyth. The court heard the hen was kicked up the street around 10 times to the horror of local residents. Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said a neighbour had been woken by loud “squawking and shouting”. Mair, of the Farmhouse Project, Glenrothes, said he had been “wrecked” after drinking one-and-a-half bottles of Buckfast before the attack.
