Andy Murray courts ace staff for Dunblane hotel

Cromlix House, near Dunblane, held an open day to recruit staff from the area.

Andy Murray’s Dunblane hotel has held an open day to recruit staff.

Around 100 people turned up hoping to snap up a job at the luxury Cromlix House, which was bought by the Wimbledon champion earlier in the year.

Applicants had the chance to meet the team of Inverlochy Castle Management (ICMI) who are managing the hotel on behalf of Andy.

Vacancies include assistant general manager, duty manager, assistant housekeeper and gardener.

The position of assistant restaurant manager and food and beverage manager at Chez Roux restaurant is also open. The eatery is overseen by world-famous father and son team Albert Roux and Michel Roux Jr.

The hotel is set to open its doors in April but successful applicants will be employed from the New Year and will undergo extensive training.

Mr Lieder, ICMI’s managing director, said: “We are keen to fill as many positions locally as possible and hope that the open day will have helped with this. We saw some great talent and look forward to welcoming the successful applicants to the Cromlix team.

“We are looking for skilled, passionate staff who will become part of an award-winning team. There is much anticipation for the opening of Cromlix around the world, making this a career- changing opportunity for those who are successful and, of course, working for ICMI and the Roux offers a long-term prospect of travel and personal growth.”

Purchased in February, the hotel is now undergoing extensive refurbishment to re-establish Cromlix as a leading, five-star, luxury destination that will create up to 40 new local jobs.

On reopening, the hotel will boast a Chez Roux restaurant, offering locally sourced produce; five suites and 10 bedrooms; a chapel; a reception hall; two drawing rooms; a conservatory; a library and meeting rooms.

ICMI already manages eight other renowned independent properties around Scotland, including Inverlochy Castle, near Fort William; Greywalls Hotel in Gullane, and the Atholl, in Edinburgh.

ICMI’s industry experts includes Albert Roux, owner of Le Gavroche in London, the first UK restaurant to be awarded three Michelin stars.
