One of the best-known chefs in the world is giving the public the chance to shape the menu at Andy Murray’s new hotel, Cromlix in Dunblane.

Albert Roux, who opened Le Gavroche, the UK’s first Michelin-starred restaurant, in 1967, is offering Scottish foodies a unique opportunity to help with the setting-up of the Chez Roux restaurant at the tennis star’s hotel.

The exclusive lunch and dinner menu tasting events will take place at Greywalls Hotel, Muirfield, between Saturday January 18 and Friday January 24.

Mr Roux said: “I’m bringing together the Cromlix team to perfect the menu we’ve designed for Chez Roux at Cromlix. I’m actively looking for feedback from the guests and will join them for discussion throughout the meal.”

The Chez Roux restaurant at Cromlix will be run by award-winning executive head chef Darin Campbell, who is joining from the One Devonshire Gardens restaurant at the Hotel Du Vin in Glasgow.

Darin will also meet the menu tasters.

Mr Roux added: “The menu is a result of our collaboration and reflects us both. I will work closely with Darin, but I will not write the menu.”

Tables of eight are available for lunch on January 18, 19, 23 and 24, with a four course menu priced at £45 per person, including wine.

Purchased in February 2013, the hotel is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment, in a move that will create up to 40 new local jobs.

The hotel is being managed on behalf of Andy Murray by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI).On reopening, the hotel will boast five suites and 10 bedrooms, a chapel, a reception hall, two drawing rooms, a conservatory, a library and meeting rooms.

Anyone who would like to book a place at one of the tasting events for Cromlix is asked to call Greywalls Hotel on 01620 842144, or email enquiries@greywalls.co.uk.
